1.5 Million Copies of Quran Printed in Iran in 9 Months
TEHRAN (IQNA) – More than 1.5 million copies of the Holy Quran were printed in Iran in the first 9 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2017), an official said.
Speaking to IQNA, Azizollah Mortazavi, director of the Proofreading Department at the Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization, put the exact number of Quran copies printed in the country in the said period at 1.606 million.
He added that the number of the Qurans published in the same period a year before stood at 1.529 million.
The Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization is affiliated to Iran’s Islamic Development Organization.
It oversees Quranic activities and grants permissions for publication of the Quran in the country.
Iran is a Muslim-majority country in the Middle East. Islam is the religion of over 99 percent of Iranians.
