According to Al-Bayan newspaper, the Qasimia University will organize the competition in cooperation with “Quran and Sunnah” Institute of Sharjah.
Memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran and Nabawi Hadiths will be the categories of the contest, slated to be held on April 2.
Rashad Salim, chancellor of the university, said that the organizing committee tries to encourage students from different countries to participate in the Quranic event.
He said it aims to help raise a Quranic generation with a moderate attitude.
Noting that various institutes are actively involved in Quranic activities in the UAE, particularly in Sharjah, he added that a “Holy Quran” Specialized College affiliated to Qasimia University has been launched in the city recently.
The registration for the international Quran competition will continue via the website of the university until March 22.
