28000 Students to Attend Quran Competition in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar announced that 28000 girls and boys have registered to take part in the 57th edition of the national Quran competition for students.

According to eastgate.com, February 11 is the registration deadline and the Quranic event will kick off on February 18.

The Ministry’s Office for Religious Dissemination and Guidance announced that those willing to sign up for the competition can refer to the website of the Quran memorization center of schools affiliated to the ministry.

Raising a generation based on Quranic teachings and promoting Quranic skills among the students are the main objectives of the contest.

Contenders will compete on the memorization of Surah An-Nas to Al-Fajr, An-Nas to ‘Abasa, An-Nas to Al-Jinn, An-Nas to At-Talaq, An-Nas to Al-Hashr, and An-Nas to Ar-Rahman.

The competition is annually organized for pre-elementary to high school level students all over the country.

Last year, too, 28000 students participated in the Quran competition.

Qatar is a Muslim-majority country in the Persian Gulf with a population of about 2.6 million.
