Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Saturday, Mohammad Hossein Mohammadzadeh said promoting memorization of the 30th Juz will be on the agenda of the Quran TV during the year 1397 (March 2018-March 2019).

“We hope that, God willing, we will achieve the goal of training 5-million Quran memorizers by 1404 (2025),” he added, noting that it would half-way through the 10-million Quran memorizers target set by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

If all capacities in different organizations are utilized, he said, the objective will be achieved.

Mohammadzadeh also referred to the Quran TV’s program for Norouz holidays marking the new year, and the holy month of Ramadan (May-June), and said many of the special programs planned to be aired on the two occasions directly or indirectly pertain to memorization of the 30th Juz of the Quran.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed in a speech in 2011 that the society should take a direction so that at least 10 million people learn the Holy Quran by heart.

Hence, related Quranic bodies in the country devised a plan, called National Quran Memorization Plan, aimed at promoting memorization of the Holy Book and training 10 million memorizers in a few years.

Different organizations and institutions including the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, Center for Coordination, Development and Promotion of Quranic Activities, Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, and Quran TV have been making efforts to materialize the objectives of the plan.
