Mohammad Mustafa Hadzi, who competes in the category of memorization of the entire Quran, said those who wish to learn the Quran by heart go to Madan, in Smolyan Province south of the country.
Speaking to IQNA, Hadzi said that he himself memorized the Quran by taking courses in the city.
There may be Quran memorization centers elsewhere in the country but those who want to make good progress in this field go to Madan, he added.
He said he managed to memorize the entire Quran in 2 years but there are some who can make achievement the task in just one year.
Asked about Iran’s Quranic event, he lauded the high level of the contest.
The 28-year old also said that it is the first time he takes part in a Quran competition in Iran.
Elsewhere, he highlighted the effects of learning the Quran, saying acquaintance with the Holy Book helps one in implementing the teachings of the Quran and living a Quranic life.
Iran’s 35th International Quran Competition was officially launched in a ceremony on Thursday.
It has five sections, including those for men, school students and seminary students.
Nearly 370 foreign guests, including the contenders, Quran experts and members of the panels, from 84 countries have arrived in Iran for the Quranic event.
