Winners of 6th Int’l Quran Contest for Students Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The winners of the 6th International Quran Competition for Muslim Students were announced on Sunday, the final day of the event.

  

According to the panel of judges, Iranian memorizer Mojtaba Fardfani bagged the top prize in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.

The runner-up was Harun Mamadu from Niger and the third rank went to Mohammad Hamidi Hana from Indonesia.

In recitation, too, Iran’s representative Mehdi Gholamnejad was the top contender.

Mohammad Ali Foroughi from Afghanistan and Ahmed Jamal Kamal al-Mansarawi from Iraq came second and third respectively.

The final round of the competition was held from Friday to Sunday in the holy city of Mashhad, northeast Iran.

This edition of the contest saw the participation of 44 Quran activists, 19 Qaris and 25 memorizers from 35 countries.
