According to Oman Daily, the competition, named after Salim bin Khalif Fuzaili, had been held in the category of memorization of the Quran earlier this week.
It was organized at two levels, featuring memorization of different parts of the Holy Book.
Winners awarded at the ceremony were 25 boys and girls who scored the best.
The competition was aimed at encouraging children and teenagers to read and memorize the Quran.
Oman is a country situated in Southwest Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf, between Yemen and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Virtually all Omanis are Muslim.
