101 Quran Memorizers Graduate in Libya

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A total of 101 Quran memorizers graduated in a ceremony in Libya’s port city of Benghazi on Saturday.

 

According to DMC News website, the ceremony was held at Asmaria Quranic Center in the city with the participation of a number of Quran masters and instructors of the center.

Addressing the event, al-Tabib al-Libi, head of the center, said the graduating students had managed to learn the Quran by heart in one year.

He said 74 of the students were boys and 27 were girls.

According to al-Libi, Sheikh Abdul Salam al-Asmar al-Fayturi established the center some 5 centuries ago for teaching the Quran.

Since then, thousands of people have learned the Quran and religious teachings at the center.

Libya is an Arab country in North Africa. By far the predominant religion in Libya is Islam with 97% of the population associating with the faith.
