TEHRAN (IQNA) – Yemeni forces launched an airstrike against Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates in retaliation for the Saudi-led coalition’s continued aggression against Yemen.

Yemeni forces attacked Dubai International Airport using a domestically-built Sammad-3 (Invincible-3) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

On August 27 and July 26, Yemeni army forces and Popular Committees fighters targeted Abu Dhabi International Airport in the UAE, using the same type of combat drone.

The UAE is Saudi Arabia’s key ally in its deadly war against Yemen.

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war in March 2015 in support of Yemen’s former Riyadh-friendly government.

Saudi Arabia has also imposed a blockade on Yemen, which has smothered humanitarian deliveries of food and medicine to the import-dependent state.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.
