Iran Nat’l Quran Contest: Winners of Tafseer Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Winners of the Tafseer (Quran interpretation) category of Iran’s 41st national Quran competition were announced on the first day of the contest’s final round.

  

According to the panel of judges, Mohammad Reza Bakhshi won the top title in this category in the men’s section with 87.45 points.

The runner-up was Morteza Valizadeh with 77.9 points and Wahab Daneshpajouh bagged the third prize with 77.4 points.

Seyed Mojtaba Jalilzadeh, Saheb Sharifi and Morteza Khorrami came 4th to sixth respectively.

The final stage of the competition started in a ceremony in the central city of Arak on Tuesday.

The competition’s men’s section will run until October 8 and women’s contest will be held on October 9-14.

Winners will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the contest on October 15.

A total of 140 Quran experts (80 men and 60 women) form the panels of judges in different categories. 

The categories of the Quranic event include Quran recitation, memorization, Tafseer, Adhan (call to prayers) and Hadith.
