Iran Attends Int’l Book Fair in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Cultural Center in Iraq has participated at an international book fair held ahead of the fifth edition of “Tarateel Sajjadiyah” cultural festival in the holy city of Karbala.

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the center has presented books on religious, cultural, intellectual and literal issues at the exhibition.

The Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine has organized the book fair at Bayn al-Haramayn (the distance between the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala) starting on October 1.

The 10-day bok fair was opened with the participation of Hojat-ol-Islam Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalayi, the Friday prayers leader of Karbala.

Most of the books put on display at the book fair by 76 publishers from Iraq and other countries feature the Seerah of Imam Sajjad (AS).

The festival, planned on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the fourth infallible Shia Imam (AS), will start on October 16.

The 10-day event will be held with the aim of disseminating the teachings of Imam Sajjad (AS) about human rights and society which the Imam mentioned in his supplications, “Sahifa Sajjadiyyah” and “Treaties of Rights”.
