TEHRAN (IQNA) – At least 15 people were killed and 25 wounded in a bombing at a polling station in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday, as the country's parliamentary elections got underway.

According to reports, at least 10 civilians and 5 police officers were killed in the bombing of the polling station in the northern part of the city.

Multiple explosions reportedly hit other polling stations, resulting in dozens of injured voters.

The elections, which are already three years late, have been marred by violence and further delays. The Taliban and Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) have been intimidating potential voters to stay at home and boycott the elections.
