TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt’s Awqaf ministry has begun registration of those willing to take part in an upcoming Quran contest for people with disabilities.

According to al-Yawm al-Sabi website, the ministry released a statement, saying the competition will be held in the category of Quran memorization.

It said all individuals with disabilities that are 25 years of age or younger can take part in the competition.

However, those who have won top ranks in previous Quran competitions in Egypt are not eligible.

According to the statement, the Quranic event is aimed at encouraging those with disabilities and providing them with an opportunity to showcase their Quranic talents.
