The Muslim Ummah (community) must make use of all of its potentials and capabilities to create a strong strategic alliance to counter Israeli plots against Al-Aqsa Mosque, Haniyeh said in an address to the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran via video conference.
He described Quds as the symbol of Islamic identity and hailed the conference’s focus on the issue of Quds.
The Tehran conference is a harbinger of unity and solidarity of Muslims despite all challenges and difficulties, the Palestinian figure added.
He also described the Zionist regime of Israel as the main enemy of the Muslim Ummah and reiterated Hamas’ commitment to defending the Palestinian land and sanctities.
He went on to say that Israeli plots and actions will not change the historical facts about Palestine and Quds, stressing that the Muslim and Arab Ummah will be victorious in the battle against the Tel Aviv regime.
The International Islamic Unity Conference got underway in the Iranian capital on Saturday morning.
Religious scholars and political figures from 100 countries are attending the international event, whose motto this year is “Quds, the Axis of Muslim Unity”.
