Algeria Holds National Quran Week

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 20th edition of the national Quran week of Algeria began in the North African country on Monday.

 

According to Amad news website, Algeria’s Awqaf and Religious Affairs annually organizes programs in this week in different parts of the country.

In a message to the opening ceremony of the event, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika called for efforts to familiarize the children and younger generation with those who promote the Quran and Sunnah in the country.

The week’s programs include a national Quran memorization, Tajweed and interpretation competition as well as a scholarly seminar titled “loyalty in the Quran”.

Algeria is a country in North Africa. Muslims make up about ninety-nine percent of the country’s population.
