TEHRAN (IQNA) – An exegesis of the Holy Quran in Braille is planned to published in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.

According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Russia, the Quran interpretation will be published in the Russian and Tatar languages.

The Yardim Charity Foundation is sponsoring the project, funding for which has been provided through donations.

It will be published as part of a plan named “Quran for Everyone”.

A source in the foundation said it also plans to publish 3,000 other books in braille for the visually-impaired in Tatarstan.

Braille is a writing system which enables the blind and partially-sighted people to read and write through touch.

It was invented by Louis Braille (1809-1852), who was blind and became a teacher of the blind.

In recent years, the Holy Quran and religious books have been printed in Braille to help the visually-impaired Muslims read the texts with ease.
