Preliminary Round of Al-Azhar Quran Contest Begins in Cairo

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary round of Al-Azhar Islamic Center’s international Quran contest got underway in Cairo on Saturday.

According to Bawaba al-Azhar website, this round aims to select Egypt’s representatives in the international Quranic event.

The Al-Azhar International Conference Center is hosting the contest, attended by more than 1,200 Quran activists from all over Egypt.

The Participants answer questions on memorization and recitation of the Quran and principles of Tajweed.

The main round of the competition will be held in late April, with the closing ceremony slated for May 12.

The international contest is aimed at promoting Quranic activities and identifying Quranic talents.
