Qom to Host Int’l Conference on ‘Imam Ali, Model of Justice, Spirituality’

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international conference titled “Imam Ali (AS), Model of Justice and Spirituality for the World” will be held in the holy city of Qom, Iran, next week.

 

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Najaf Lakzaei, head of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Research Center, senior clerics Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli and Hojat-ol-Islam Sheikh Hossein Ansarian will address the event while grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi will send a message.

Slated for Thursday, March 7, it will be held ahead of the birthday anniversary of the first Shia Imam, he noted.

Lakzaei added that the conference is aimed at discussing the Seerah of Imam Ali (AS) from the viewpoint of justice and spirituality, presenting a role model for today’s society, and promoting the Imam’s thoughts in the world.

The topics for discussion include Imam Ali and human rights, Imam Ali and justice, Imam Ali and social freedoms, and Imam Ali and social justice, he noted.

Hojat-ol-Islam Najaf Lakzaei went on to say that 305 papers from Iran and several Arab countries have been submitted to the secretariat of the conference, of which 33 will be presented at four specialized panels.
