It is incompatible with the conception of conscience of a believer solely to approve of endeavors made in order to communicate the moral values of the Quran but not to make any effort to assist with them, says Harun Yahya , prominent Muslim scholar.
It is constantly emphasized in Islamic teaching that the Quran will bring a solution to all problems especially to existing problems regarding the concept of religious tolerance.
“Looking at contemporary world problems in general terms, one can see that they were created in the first place by hatred, malice, self-interest, indifference and cruelty. These are evils that are the products of the materialist and Darwinist mindset. These ideologies, which indoctrinate people with the idea that human beings are supposedly a species of animal and that there is a ruthless struggle among them, inflict great harm on society.” Said Harun Yahya in an interview with Iranian Quran News Agency (Iqna), and stressed: “This damage must be undone by love, compassion, mercy, generosity, unselfishness, sensitivity, tolerance, commonsense and wisdom. These traits of compassion can be attained only by fully living by the values taught in the Noble Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (saas).”
In one verse, Allah states that everything would be in corruption and confusion if the morality Allah commanded were not followed:
If the truth were to follow their whims and desires, the heavens and the earth and everything in them would have been brought to ruin. No indeed! We have given their Reminder, but they have turned away from it. (Surat al-Muminun: 71)
This highly regarded Islamic thinker continued: “The Islamic world is currently facing many troubles and difficulties. Millions of people are suffering, or facing expulsion from their homelands. For this reason, people who have consciences need to think about this, and act to solve those troubles as if they themselves or their loved ones were facing them. We need to act both spiritually and materially to alleviate the suffering and oppression.”
Allah orders conscientious and faithful people to assume this responsibility:
What reason could you have for not striving in the Way of Allah – for those men, women and children who are oppressed and say, “Our Lord, take us out of this city whose inhabitants are wrongdoers! Give us a protector from You! Give us a helper from You!”? (Surat an-Nisa': 75)
“When we consider the Quranic commands, it becomes obvious what are our obligations. The most important thing for Muslims is first, to engage in an intellectual struggle against Darwinism and materialism, which lie at the root of these problems. The only salvation for the weak, helpless, homeless and destitute is the practice of the guidance of the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Therefore, it is our duty to spread the word and communicate the message, and that is a vital component of worship for all Muslims.” he added.
It does matter to a great extent that how a Muslim can apply the Quran to his or her daily life, what it brings about, Harun Yahya says:
“The Qur'an is unique, and therefore far superior to any other book. For this reason, the information it contains is far superior to any other information. Every person who reads it with a sincere intention and sees the miracles, unique wisdom, and superiority that its verses convey will be guided to the truth. Those who adopt the Quran and the way of the Prophet (saas) as a guide have a far different lifestyle than others. For example, they do not feel despair, restlessness, hopelessness, gloom, or desperation, and do not suffer from trouble or panic when facing unexpected events, for the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (saas) guide them at all times. Remembering that they live according to the destiny that Allah has chosen for them, they submit to Him and thus live in peace and respond to all events with Allah's commands in mind. Every decision, spoken word, and written line indicates their adherence to the Quranic values.”
“At every stage of their lives, whether formulating a decision, or speaking, or while offering an interpretation of something, Muslims consistently use the Quran as their guide. For example, since they have accepted the verses of the Quran with their entire hearts, the morality expounded in it is always reflected in their speech. The Quran is the word of Allah, and it reveals the truth of all matters from His Sight. Those who speak by using the Quran as their guide invariably participate in any conversation in the best way, because the verses of the Quran deconstruct and eradicate all errant forms of logic, bringing the truth to the light.” , He stressed.
“Words spoken in accordance with the morality explained in the Quran are a healing and a mercy for the sincere. Those who listen to them, with the intention of profiting from its advice, or to derive its benefits or to discern its wisdom, find the truth, by way of these conversations—if Allah wills. The words of the Prophet (saas) were not only extremely effective but imbued with wisdom, because he recited from the Quran, a book which is the word of Allah. The One Who imparted the faith and influence to the hearts of those who listened to his words and believe, was Allah. Those who fail to appreciate the greatness of Allah fall into a grave error, by vainly seeking to gain influence and wisdom by other means.”
Harun Yahya emphasized on a dire need to spreading Islamic moral values faster and people to be told of true Islamic morality, and declared:
“It is a responsibility incumbent on all people of faith and good conscience to strive to disseminate the moral values of the Quran among people and tell them about the Quranic verses. In addition, it is exceedingly important that philosophies and trends that are incompatible with Quranic moral values be intellectually defeated. People must be told about the true face of ideologies such as materialism and Darwinism that turn people away from love, compassion and faith.”
Allah has revealed this duty to people in the verse “Let there be a community among you who call to the good, and enjoin the right, and forbid the wrong” (Surah Al ‘Imran, 104).
In another verse, Allah tells people “… So compete with each other in doing good. Every one of you will return to Allah…” (Surat al-Ma’ida, 48).
“Therefore, every person must strive, according to his or her means, to tell about the verses of the Quran, to call people to what is good, and to support the communication of the message of the moral values of the Quran. Some people may lack the material means to do this, or may be unable to devote much time to such an endeavor. Yet someone who uses his conscience can indubitably find something to do in accordance with the means at his disposal. There is a great deal that people who wish to perform their duty to communicate the message and who seek a way of doing so can do. What matters is that a person use his or her reason and conscience in an honest manner on this subject.” He stated.
Allah has revealed thus in a verse:
This truly is a reminder, so let anyone who wills take the way towards his Lord. (Surat al-Muzzammil, 19)
“It is incompatible with the conception of conscience of a believer solely to approve of those endeavors made in order to communicate the moral values of the Quran but not to make any effort to assist with them. Allah may hold such people responsible for such an attitude in the Hereafter. At such a time when Muslims are being gravely oppressed all over the world it is of even greater importance that the faithful should support one another. This calls for the better use of limited time and for non-stop labor for the propagation of the moral values of the Quran. The cumulative effect of all these endeavors be they great or small, will, with Allah’s help, be a means whereby proper moral values spread among all humanity.” calling every individual to take part in this mission, Harun Yahya, Prominent thinker in Islamic studies concluded.
