-- Having a global influence, the Islamic Revolution has changed the political equations in the Middle East and all over the world, an MP told IQNA.
“The resistance we are witnessing in Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and many other crisis-stricken countries in the world is rooted in Imam Khomeini's movement and Iran's Islamic Revolution,” Mohammad Karami Rad said.
Talking to IQNA about the objectives of Imam Khomeini's movement, member of the administrative board of the Majlis National Security Commission said, "Imam Khomeini tried to revive the tenets of Islam and moved in the direction of Islam, Quran and Etrat. Based on this approach, he managed to make people aware of the corruptions of Pahlavi Regime.
“Imam Khomeini played a great role in raising people's awareness to see the brutal oppressions of the Pahlavi Regime and notice its cooperation with Israel. This approach which began in 1963 bore fruits in 1978 by the victory of Islamic Revolution".
As for the exceptional reception Imam was given by Iranian people in 1978 upon his return after 15 years in exile, Karami said, "Imam emphasized the propagation of Islam and the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and that is why he has been so popular among the people of Iran.”
Referring to Imam Khomeini's characteristics which contributed to the victory of the Revolution, he reiterated, "Influenced by Imam Hossein’s (AS) uprising and Ashura, Imam Khomeini's revolutionary spirit led him to start such an uprising which led to a great, lasting episode in history."
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mr. Karami Rad pointed to the ideas of Sharif Ambalu, a Senegalese thinker, about the Islamic Revolution and said, “According to Mr. Ambalu, creating a reform movement and a revolution is very complicated and hard to achieve; yet, Imam Khomeini managed to create a revolution and lead it to victory.”
