-- An encyclopedia of Islamic philosophy is to be published in Egypt in the coming weeks, Al-Yawm As-Sabi daily reported.
It has been compiled in 1000 pages by the researchers and scholars of the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council, affiliated to Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry.
Secretary General of the council Muhammad Shahat Al-Jundi said yesterday that the encyclopedia’s articles feature the life and works of great philosophers of the Islamic world, as well as the historyof Islamic philosophy and other related issues.
He said the scientific work aims at promoting the Islamic culture and values as well as helping to revive the scientific heritage of the Islamic world.
According to Mr. Al-Jundi, the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council has already published the Encyclopedia of Islamic Sufism and the Encyclopedia of Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and plans to compile another encyclopedia featuring Islamic beliefs.
