Int'l Conference of "Imam Khomeini, Imam of the Oppressed" Held in Kenya

-- An international conference entitled "Imam Khomeini, Imam of the Oppressed" was held in Kenya on Saturday.
This is according to Ali Bagheri, Iran's cultural attaché in Kenya, who told IQNA that the conference, held on the eve of the demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was attended by distinguished Sunni and Shia figures.

"Imam Khomeini's unique approach towards the oppressed people as well as his viewpoints on the issue of Palestine and the oppressed Palestinians were discussed in the one-day event," Mr. Bagheri said.

Iran's cultural attaché in Kenya pointed to his lecture presented in the conference and said, "In my speech I tried to elaborate on the Quranic ideas of the late father of the Islamic Revolution with regards to the opressed."

"Imam Khomeini believed that the oppressed people of the world would one day liberate their soul and their land from the grasp of the exploiting powers and this is a the Divine promise,"he concluded.
