According to religious teachings, we will live another life after death but this time we determine how our looks will be.
Our life in the hereafter will be the outcome of how we live in this world.
According to Hadiths, everyone turns young on the Day of Judgment and waits for his deeds in this world to be evaluated.
Based on the verses of the Quran, how people look on the Day of Judgment will have special features that distinguish good doers from evil doers.
The Quran says those who do evil in this world and are going to go to hell have a very dark and gloomy face and keep crying and lamenting on the Resurrection Day. On the other hand, the righteous have bright and happy faces.
“On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord.” (Surah Al-Qiyamah, Verses 22-23)
Their face shows what is in their heart: boundless hope and happiness for receiving God’s blessings:
“You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss.” (Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 24)
The evil doers, however, have a gloomy and sullen face:
“And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy.” (Surah Al-Qiyamah, Verse 24)
So how everyone’s face will be on the Day of Judgment depends on how he or she has acted in this world.
“On the day when some faces will become white and others black, God will ask the people with the faces which have become black, ‘Why did you give up your faith? Now suffer the torment for your disbelief.’” (Surah Al-Imran, Verse 106)
