Photo Gallery: Final of Quran Contest Remembers Martyr Raisi
IQNA – On May 20, 2024 in Tehran, the concluding session of a Quranic recitation contest took place, showcasing participants who emulated esteemed qaris.
The event also served as a moment of remembrance for the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, with contestants and a multitude of attendees paying homage.
The event was held as Iran mourns the tragic deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash northwest of the country on Sunday. Iran is observing five days of mourning, with funeral processions slated to start today.
Special ceremonies were also organized in the five-hour-long final round of the contest to commemorate the tragic loss of lives.
