Hajj 2024 in Pictures: Millions Converge on Mount Arafat
IQNA – Millions of Muslim pilgrims have gathered at Mount Arafat, near Mecca, marking the pinnacle of the Hajj 2024 pilgrimage.
Known as the 'hill of mercy,' Mount Arafat stands as the site of the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Farewell Sermon, delivered 1,435 years ago, where he spoke of equality and unity among Muslims.
The journey to the mount, situated 20 kilometers southeast of Mecca, began in the early hours before dawn, with pilgrims traversing the distance on foot. Emotions ran high as worshippers, standing closely together, raised their hands in prayer, many with tears flowing, seeking divine mercy, blessings, and well-being.
This ritual is often cited as the most impactful moment of the Hajj, resonating deeply with those who participate.
