He said the copies have been published by the Dar al-Tawfiq Publications based on a permission issued by Al-Azhar Islamic Center in Egypt, Wafa news agency reported.
He noted that in these copies, a word in Verse 39 of Surah Saad has been misprinted.
Sheikh Muhammed Hussein urged the individuals and libraries that have these copies to hand them over to the Dar al-Ifta.
He also urged printing houses to avoid printing such copies that have printing errors.
The senior cleric stressed the need for taking utmost care in printing copies of the Holy Book.
In recent years, there has been much criticism of the situation regarding the printing and distribution of the Quran in Egypt.
Critics say the printing and distribution system is outdated and inconsistent with the historical position of Egypt in this field.
