The Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) announced that those who are willing can register for the Quranic event starting on November 1.
The competition is for UAE citizens and those residing in the Persian Gulf country, it said.
It is held in two sections for men and women and consists of six categories: memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 20 Juzes (parts), memorization of 10 Juzes, memorization of 5 Juzes (open to citizens only), memorization of 5 Juzes (for residents below 10 years old), and memorization of 3 Juzes (for citizens below 10 years old).
The contenders must not be older than 25 and possess and must not be previous winners of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award or the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition.

According to Ahmed al-Zayed, a member of the organizing committee, the contest is aimed at encouraging and honoring Quran memorizers and preparing them to participate in international Quranic event.
Last year, 40 male and 51 female memorizers competed in the finals of the 24th edition.
