Speaking at the "Communication and the Search for Trust in the Islamic World" forum organized by Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University (GİBTÜ), Al-Qaradaghi emphasized the vital role of Islamic scholars in mobilizing the Muslim Ummah, to respond to the crisis.
Speaking to ILKHA, Al-Qaradaghi stated that Muslim scholars bear a unique responsibility, greater than that of the general population, in responding to such crises. “They should be an example in resistance, an example in sacrifice, an example in generosity, an example in demonstrations, and an example in everything. Because this is the legacy of the Prophets,” he said.
Al-Qaradaghi also noted that the IUMS has introduced nine initiatives aimed at addressing the genocide in Gaza. However, he expressed disappointment that these proposals have yet to garner a response from the broader Muslim community. He hoped that the proposals would be received and acted upon in the near future.
