As part of its 2024 initiatives, IACAD reported that 24 mosques were inaugurated this year at a cost of Dh172 million, providing space for 13,911 worshippers.
Ongoing projects include the construction of additional mosques with an investment of Dh475 million, increasing capacity to accommodate 40,961 worshippers.
IACAD has also allocated 54 plots of land for future mosque development and is working on a "Mosque Guide" to establish sustainability standards.
Among recent openings, the Ibrahim Ali Al Gergawi Mosque in Mirdif, spanning 2,226 square meters, was inaugurated last week, while the Ata Al-Rahman Mosque in Al Barsha (Arjan) opened Sunday, offering facilities for 504 worshippers.

IACAD has also handled over 16,000 Qibla determination requests and resolved 1,232 mosque-related complaints, achieving a 100% resolution rate. Additionally, the department collaborated with the American University’s School of Architecture to support training in mosque design.
