First established in 1947 through community self-funding, construction of the mosque was completed in 1958. Over the decades, it has undergone two major renovations to keep pace with evolving needs and architectural standards.

The first renovation took place in 1965, followed by a complete reconstruction from 1972 to 1978, which included structural and design updates.

The mosque’s architecture is notably inspired by the Sultan Ahmed Mosque—widely known as the Blue Mosque—in Istanbul, Turkey.

Its design includes Ottoman-style domes and minarets, giving it a striking presence in the neighborhood. The building rests on a near-cubic base measuring approximately 53 by 51 meters, creating a grand and symmetrical form.
