According to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, the individuals were apprehended in Mecca while holding various categories of visit visas, Saudi media outlets reported on Tuesday.

Their presence in the city, while lacking official Hajj authorization, was deemed a breach of the strict protocols in place to ensure the safety, order, and well-being of pilgrims.

Authorities have launched legal proceedings against those arrested and have initiated investigations to locate and apprehend individuals who may have assisted the unauthorized pilgrims. These include persons who provided transportation, housing, or other support in contravention of pilgrimage laws.
