Tawfiq Hassan Alawiyah made the remark in an article he has written on the first anniversary of Ayatollah Raisi’s martyrdom.
President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation lost their lives after the helicopter carrying them crashed in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan due to harsh weather conditions on May 19, 2024.
Following are excerpts from Alawiyah’s article for IQNA:
The characteristics that distinguish people from others are what put them in the order of moral and human excellence. These traits are most evident in crisis situations. The most critical of these situations, where these traits are closely examined, are those in which few people stand firm and many fail.
The narrower the circle, the more distinct and deserving the distinction. Thus, the world has witnessed the presence of great and distinguished personalities whose qualities have emerged in the most difficult and critical of circumstances.
Among these characters is Martyr Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi. Ayatollah Raisi’s personality had a combination of characteristics, including wisdom, courage, good management and full awareness of the conditions of time and place and the state of affairs in the world, especially awareness of the events, results and consequences of the conflicts between the axis of resistance and the axis of evil, that is, the United States and its crony Israel and its other accomplices.
When a personality is honest, efficient and influential, and when that personality relies on God Almighty and a strong government whose people are present in various fields, then all his actions and behavior will be influential.
Ayatolah Raisi was a scholar, a jurist, and a master of the foundations of jurisprudence, and this is what the professors of this field testify to.

And he used to pray wherever he found a place good for prayer at the time of Salah. For example, one of the places where we don’t normally see presidents praying in public was on a plane on his way to a presidential mission, and he was praying there. Also at the Kremlin Palace, the United Nations, and his famous trip to Algeria where he prayed with the Sunnis.
Defending the issue of Palestine and supporting resistance was also an outstanding part of Ayatollah Raisi’s life.
