Yasir al-Zubaidi, an official with the department, said the exhibition’s halls have become prepared to host the guests and visitors.
He said the exhibition includes a variety of collections of art and paintings with Islamic themes.
In the full panorama exhibition hall, 20 paintings will be exhibited on the theme of the life of Imam Ali (AS) from the time of his birth to martyrdom and the most prominent aspects of his life, al-Zubaidi stated.
He said Arabic calligraphy will also occupy an important part of the exhibition, and in this section, Islamic paintings and manuscripts and unique artistic decorations representing Islamic architecture in the holy shrine will be displayed.
They include 25 paintings by various international artists from different countries, the officials added.
In part of the exhibition, fine art paintings from Iran, Lebanon and Pakistan and old and valuable paintings in the treasures of the Astan will be put on show, he said, noting that the exhibition is an opportunity to get acquainted with the Islamic art heritage.
Every year, the Astan of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine in Najaf organizes the International Ghadir Week, consisting of various programs, on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir.
This year, the 14th edition of the event will feature new programs for the first time inside and outside of Iraq, and the international version will include a variety of activities in different continents of the world according to a specific timetable.
