He made the remark in an interview with IQNA on the sidelines of a recent forum held by the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization in Tehran to investigate the regulations of Iran’s Quran contests.
He said the regulations of Iran’s Quran competitions have turned into a model for some countries.
Noting that he has the experience of attending five international Quran competitions in different countries, he said, “Based on this experience, I have to say that the statute of the Quran contest of Iran is the most complete in the world, and of course, this is due to the importance that the Quranic authorities of the country have always attached to the holding of domestic and international competitions.”
He added, “At first glance, the Quran competitions in some countries like Malaysia may be older than those in Iran, but in comparison, I must say that none of those competitions match the quality and technical level of the competitions in Iran.”
Pouya added that the quality and prestige enjoyed by the Quran competitions in Iran have led some countries to use the guidance and advice of Iranian experts to launch their Quran competitions.

“(For example), during the Quran competitions in Malaysia and Libya we witnessed the dispatch of Quran experts from the Awqaf Organization to hel establish the rules of the competitions of these countries or we witnessed the presence of their representatives to receive advice and guidance from Iranian officials and experts.”
However, he said, it should not be overlooked that the statutes of the competitions in different categories always need to be revised and updated.
