Ali Reza Moaf, the research and planning deputy of the Islamic Development Coordination Council, made the remark in an interview with IQNA ahead of the 36th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s demise.
He noted that before the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, there had been attempts at consigning the issue of Palestine into oblivion but Imam Khomeini thwarted these attempts.
He said that with Imam Khomeini’s initiative of naming the last Friday of Ramadan as the International Quds Day and with the principled and continuous policy of the Islamic Republic in pursuing the issue of Palestine and Quds, today it has become the first issue of the Islamic world.
Moaf also referred to the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage and highlighting Imam Khomeini’s tansformative view of the Hajj, said Imam Khomeini brought to prominence the political and anti-arrogant dimension of Hajj.
He said it is necessary to use the Hajj season as a tool of public diplomacy to reveal the true face of American human rights.
If Muslims appreciate the importance of Hajj, this ritual can become a unique opportunity for Bira’at min-al-Mushrikeen (disavowal of disbelievers), Moaf went on to say.
