Imam Hussein’s Movement Eternal, Redemptive: Senior Cleric
Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani made the remark in a message to the 4th international conference on “Husseini Insight and Mission”, which got underway in the holy city of Qom on Saturday.
Major events in human life, like towering waves in the vast ocean, emerge one after another throughout history, shaping parts of society’s story as they unfold, he said in the message.
“They capture the attention of groups and inspire historians to document them in special chapters dedicated to these incidents. Then, just as waves quietly fade away along the shore, these events gradually lose their prominence over time, eventually fading from memory until only traces remain in the margins of history, as if they had never occurred or left no mark of influence or movement on the course of history.
“It is important to note, however, that some events, guided by an unseen hand, do not follow this pattern. The passage of time does not erode them. Rather, it enhances their brilliance, endurance, and significance, making them as resilient and unyielding as tempered steel, immune to fading or decline.
“The movements led by divine men, born from a pure and untouched human Fitrat (nature), arise for the sake of God and to save society from the clutches of corruption, misery, and inequality—free from selfish desires of “us” and “me.” These movements inscribe golden pages in history books. Their eternal place in the collective consciousness lies in the roots of their cause: their uprising and revolution are for God. Seeking God is an innate, natural instinct, and anything rooted in this pure instinct remains ever-living, enduring, and eternal.”
