Prophet’s Life Guarantee of Spiritual Life of the Ummah: Scholar

IQNA – An Iranian seminary and university scholar said the last messenger of God (PBUH) was a role model not only for his time, but also for all times.

The Holy Prophet’s character is the lifeblood of the divine system and the guarantor of the spiritual life of the Muslim Ummah, Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Zamani said in an interview with IQNA. 

“We must consider his behavior in all areas of morality, politics, militarism, society, and relations with other countries,” he said.

One of the most important and fundamental issues today is a need that not only the Islamic world, but the entire world of humanity has, and that is to be familiar with the life of the last messenger of God (PBUH), the scholar stated.

“We must think about how the Holy Prophet (PBUH) lived during his 63 years of life and what great deeds and great developments he accomplished during his 23-year mission.”

He said the truth is that today the Islamic world and even the world of humanity has no choice but to follow Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) path, because his path is the path of salvation.

He highlighted Verse 128 of Surah At-Tawbah, “Indeed, there has come to you a Messenger from your own, he grieves for your suffering, and is anxious about you, and is gentle, merciful to the believers,” adding, “If we want to recognize the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a role model, we must pay attention to his behavior in all areas: in ethics, politics, militarism, society, relations with other countries, and even in his correspondence with the world leaders of that time.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Zamani further said that studying the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is one of the most important issues today.

Allameh Tabatabaei, in his book “Sunan al-Nabi”, in about 400 to 500 pages, has discussed the moral life of the Prophet (PBUH), he noted, adding that on the other hand, there are great works by Sunnis, such as Sunan al-Kubra, which is over seventy volumes.

“Both Sunnis and Shias have made great efforts in this field (Seerah of the Prophet),” he stated.

He went to hope that today's youth in the Islamic world will pay more attention to these works than ever before because the enemies of Islam, led by global arrogance and America, want the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to remain unknown; not only his personality, but also his Seerah and lifestyle to remain hidden.
