The ‘Al-Saqqa’ Quran contest was organized by the assembly in the city of Al-Hindiyah, located in the province of Karbala, Al-Kafeel reported.
It took place at the initiative of the Assembly’s Al-Hindiyah branch with the aim of highlighting the Quranic potential of the participants in the Quranic courses.
Yousef Al-Wazir, head of the media unit at the center, said 18 Quran learners from different areas of the city and its surrounding villages took part in the contest.
It included various sections in the field of memorization and recitation of the Quran, as well as answering jurisprudential and ideological questions, which were conducted under the supervision of a specialized judging committee, he noted.
He said that senior cleric Sheikh Anas al-Fatlawi addressed the ceremony to honor the winners, explained the role of the Quranic programs of the Astan in educating generations in the best possible way.
The Scientific Assembly organizes various Quranic programs in Iraq and some other countries to spread the teachings of the Holy Book and promote its culture in society.
