IQNA – Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, called on Islamic governments to establish a joint operations room in response to Israel’s recent acts of aggression.

Larijani Urges Joint Operations Room Against Israel ahead of Islamic-Arab Summit

An extraordinary Islamic-Arab summit will open in Doha on Sunday, convened by Qatar to rally support for Palestinians in Gaza and respond to Israel’s recent aggression on the Qatari capital.

The attack, carried out last week, targeted senior Hamas leaders and killed several relatives and aides but failed to assassinate the resistance group’s leadership. It marked the first Israeli strike on Qatari soil and drew widespread condemnation.

In a statement posted in Arabic on X on Saturday, Larijani criticized meetings that have no tangible outcomes. “A conference of the OIC full of speeches without practical results — as happens in Security Council meetings — is in fact equivalent to issuing a new order for aggression in favor of the Zionist entity,” he wrote.

He urged member states to take concrete action. “At the very least, form a joint operations room against the madness of this entity,” Larijani said, adding that such a move alone would unsettle Israel’s backers and force them to reconsider their support.

Larijani argued that Islamic countries had failed to act in defense of Palestinians facing hunger and oppression. “Since you have done nothing for the hungry and oppressed Muslims in Palestine, at least take a modest decision to avoid your own destruction,” he warned.

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said ahead of the summit that the gathering would determine the region’s next course of action. He told CNN he hoped for “a collective regional response” to the Israeli strike, which came as Hamas officials were discussing a US-endorsed ceasefire proposal.
