He made the remark in a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani on the sidelines of the emergency summit of Islamic and Arab states in Doha on Monday.
Pezeshkian said he is always pleased to meet with Iraqi brothers of the same faith and with a common history and culture, and added that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand cooperation, enhance the level of relations, and actualize mutual capacities with Iraq in all fields, for the benefit of the two nations and the nations of the region.
Referring to the continuation, intensification, and expansion of the scope of the Israeli regime’s crimes, he said that this regime certainly does not have the courage and audacity to commit such crimes without the support and backing of the Americans and European countries.
“I have always stated that I seek to strengthen unity and cohesion in my country and among Islamic countries. In practice, I have pursued this goal, and I consider achieving unity and cohesion among Islamic countries to be the most effective way to confront the criminality of the Zionist regime.”
Stating that if all Islamic countries join hands, the Zionists would not dare to commit such crimes against any Islamic country, he said, “The fact that the Zionist regime, on the one hand, commits crimes with continuous bombings against the defenseless people of Gaza, and on the other hand, kills children, women, and men from hunger, is absolutely intolerable and Muslims must work as one, in practice, to stop these crimes and atrocities of the Zionist regime.”
He pointed out that the Zionist regime, just as it targeted Iran in the midst of negotiations with the United States, also bombed the meeting place of the leaders of the Palestinian Islamic resistance Hamas while they were considering the American peace proposal. “These behaviors are proof that the claims of the Americans and the West about diplomacy and human rights are lies.”
The Iraqi prime minister, for his part, appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Iranian president and said maintaining and strengthening the relations with Iran is very important to Iraq and in this regard, Baghdad is seriously pursuing the acceleration of the implementation of all agreements between the two countries.
Referring to the Zionist regime’s aggression against Qatar, Al-Sudani said it shows that Israel has mocked and violated all international laws and frameworks, and this situation requires Islamic countries to use all their tools and capabilities, with greater coordination, for serious practical measures to stop the crimes of this regime.

The Iraqi prime minister added, “In the first step, we must keep the movement that was created among Islamic countries following Israel’s attack on Qatar active, and by establishing continuous and regular communication between Islamic countries and coordinating with each other, we can turn this movement into an opportunity to form a common Islamic-Arab position and the foundation for practical action and a serious coalition.”
Al-Sudani emphasized that efforts to create a unified position among Islamic countries should not be limited to holding meetings and issuing declarations and stated, “We must use all our capacities and capabilities to practically stop the crimes of the Zionist regime and prevent their continuation and repetition.”
