Iran to Send 60,000 Umrah Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in two Months

IQNA – The Deputy Director of Hajj and Umrah at Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced the start of registration for Umrah applicants in the coming days.

Speaking at a meeting with provincial Hajj and pilgrimage managers, held online on Monday, Akbar Rezaei added that 60,000 Iranians will set off for the Land of Revelation during the next two Iranian months of Aban and Azar (October 23- December 21). 

The number can be increased if the conditions and grounds are created, he stated.

Details of registration will be announced soon, the official noted.

During the meeting, executive processes for the Umrah operation were reviewed.

It was emphasized that in order to continuously improve the level of services, executive operations should be reviewed and the improvement process should be accelerated.

Rezaei stated that transparent information about all Umrah implementation processes and the transfer of experiences should be carried out continuously by the managers.

Paying attention to instructions and regulations, closely monitoring the completion of processes, and improving the quality of services are important and must be taken seriously, he said.

Umrah is a Mustahab (recommended but not obligatory) pilgrimage to Mecca which Muslims can take at any time of the year, unlike the Hajj pilgrimage that is obligatory for every able-bodied and financially able Muslim once in their lifetime and can be performed only in the first days of the lunar Hijri month of Dhul Hajja.
