Hezbollah Chief Warns against US Intervention in Lebanon
Sheikh Naim Qassem made the remark at a ceremony held Tuesday to unveil a book, adding that US intervention in Lebanon and the region proves that it is leading genocide and massacre for its expansionist project, Al-Manar reported.
He said the Israeli regime’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has proposed a so-called “Greater Israel” plan that actually serves a ‘greater America’.
He underlined that Lebanon will not give Israel what it wants as long as there are proud people and great sacrifices that have been made and can be made.
“We are facing a stage of the conflict in which there is great pain and hope because Israel has not and will not achieve its goals.”
Lebanon must remain proud, dear, independent, strong and capable, Sheikh Qassem emphasized.
He further said Israel is not seeking to implement the ceasefire agreement and end the conflict and war with Lebanon. “Whoever thinks that disarming Hezbollah will solve the problem is deeply mistaken because weapons are part of Lebanon’s strength and they (enemies) do not want Lebanon to be strong and powerful.”
According to the Hezbollah chief, nothing new has happened except that America is seeking to achieve through politics what Israel has not achieved through war.
“Threatening us is ineffective and useless, and if you implement the agreement, Lebanon will implement it too. All the movements and pressures are wasting time.”
Addressing the US government and its representative in Syria and Lebanon affairs, Sheikh Qassem said Lebanon’s stability will be achieved by containing Israel.
He added that the gesture that US President Donald Trump made in Sharm el-Sheikh is not a gesture of peace.
He also addressed the Lebanese government officials, stating, “You are responsible for the sovereignty and taking the right action to protect the sovereignty of Lebanon. You are responsible for reconstruction and take executive measures for reconstruction.
