Organised by the University of Tabriz and Iran’s Cultural Office in Austria, the half-day event will be held simultaneously in Tabriz and Vienna. It is described as the first gathering of its kind in Iran to host a group of influential philosophers and scholars from several countries.
The programme features prominent speakers from Europe, the United States and Iran, including figures such as Slavoj Žižek, Frank Ruda, Jeremy Shearmur, Gholamreza Aavani, Donald Gillies, Robert Hanna, Maurice Hamington, Russell Sbriglia, Thomas Bauer, Thomas Heinscho and Hossein Dabbagh.
Organisers say the conference offers exclusive lectures and direct dialogue with leading thinkers who will examine key global challenges and philosophy’s response to them.
Topics include the environmental crisis, climate change, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, human dignity, cosmopolitanism and possible philosophical futures.
The event will be streamed live and will be open to the public worldwide through a virtual conference link.
