Iranian Qari Recites Quran at New Year Event in Bosnia

IQNA – An Iranian qari was among the reciters who recited verses from the Holy Quran at an event in the city of Kakani, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on New Year’s Eve.

The ‘Night of the Quran’ traditional and spiritual ceremony was held Wednesday night, December 31, 2025, in Kakani, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

According to a tradition that has been established for several years in the city of Kakani, Muslims in this city spend New Year’s Eve in a gathering to get acquainted with the Quran.

The ‘Night of the Quran’ traditional and spiritual ceremony was held Wednesday night with the presence of numerous citizens, scholars, and families.

Also attending were Quran reciters from several countries, including the host country and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Zakir Effendi Ljubović, the Friday Imam of the region, gave a speech to the audience, and then invited the qaris, including Hadi Esfidani from Iran, Hafiz Jafar Akbay from Turkey, Aziz Alili from Croatia, Hafiz Nijaz Aganhojić from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ahmed Alili from Slovenia, to recite verses from the Holy Quran.
