Quran Competition Concludes in Russia
The Seventh Holy Quran Intonation (Tajweed) Competition concluded in Russia.
Three contestants from Daghestan, Karelia and Ivanovo have won prizes in the competition and Russia's Grand Mufti and Ifta Council President Sheikh Rawi Ainuddin distributed prizes for the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Rawi Ainuddin said that the competition was a great success. He expressed happiness over the growing number of youths who come forward to take part in the Quran recitation and intonation competition.
He disclosed plans of the Ifta Council to make the Eighth competition an international one with the participation of more countries, especially the former Soviet republics.
On his part, Dr. Taufiq Adlan (Egypt), the head of the panel of judges, said that the standard of this year's competition was much better than that of previous years.
