According to the website of the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization, 55 Quran memorizers took part in the competition which was held at five levels: memorization of 5, 10, 15, and 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran as well as memorization of the entire Quran.
It was held by the organization in cooperation with Ethiopia’s Hamza Quran memorization Center.
Taha Harun prayer leader of Ethiopia’s Grand Mosque, Mohammad Zein director of Al-Ihsan religious institute, Umar Muhammad Al-Maghribi representative of the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization were present at the awarding ceremony.
Addressing the function, Mohammad Zein stressed the importance of holding more Quran competitions with the purpose of promoting the culture of memorizing the Holy Book.
Later in the programs, winners of the competition received their awards.
