Mehdi Qarasheikhlu, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Karim Organization, said the programs marking Mashhad as the cultural capital of Muslim world in 2017 can also help to introduce the Islamic Republic’s Quranic potentials and achievements.
"Fortunately, thanks to the (1979) Islamic Revolution, there have been very good moves to introduce the Quranic capacities of the country in the past few decades but we should be able to become a model for other Islamic countries in this field.”
He also underlined the Quranic potentials of Iran and the holy city of Mashhad are so huge that other countries can take them as examples to develop their Quranic activities.
The 7th conference of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) member states, held in Algiers in 2007, selected Mashhad as the cultural capital of the Muslim world in 2017.
