The officials discussed the development of Quranic cooperation between the two countries.

Farahani referred to promotion of the Quranic culture, training Quran teachers, memorizers, Qaris and experts in Quran interpretation as well as development of Quranic research studies as the most important Quranic achievements of Iran during the past 40 years.

He added that various faculties of Quranic sciences and research centers for Quranic teachings have been established in the country since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Organization of international Quran competitions and training Quran memorizers and Qaris to represent Iran in international Quranic events in different countries are the other activities in line with disseminating Quranic culture, he added.

The Iranian official noted that paying special attention to Quranic culture and teachings is an important duty of Islamic countries and stressed that Iran, as a pioneer in the promotion of Muslims unity and proximity of Islamic schools of thought, tries to take influential steps, based on the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, in the realization of a united Muslim Ummah.

He further referred to the good relations between Iran and Tunisia in Quranic fields and said that the Iranian Culture Center plans to develop its cooperation with the Tunisian organization in holding joint scientific Quranic meetings, exchanging experiences in holding Quran competitions and exchanging experts to hold specialized Quranic workshops.

Sheikh Mashfar, for his part, referred to Tunisia’s Al-Zaytoonah University as one of the oldest and top universities of the Muslim world and expressed hope that cooperation between the university and Iranian academic centers in Quranic fields will develop.
