TEHRAN (IQNA) – Imam Hussein (AS) is a manifestation of God's benevolence, and the lovers of this Imam should grow this feature in themselves if they seek to be like him.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Javad Beheshti, a researcher and expert on Quranic studies, pointed out some of the lessons that one can draw from the life of Imam Hussein (AS). Here is a summary of his remarks:

We live in a society that bears an air of Imam Hussein (AS) movement. He is the manifestation of God’s benevolence and the lovers of this Imam should grow this feature in themselves if they seek to be like him.

One of the expressions included in the supplications is “Ya Qadim Al-Ahsan, Be-Haqq Al-Hussein” which can be translated as “O one whose benevolence is eternal, I implore you to the right of Imam Hussein (AS).” This line of supplication tries to make individuals pay attention to those in need so that they would offer any sort of financial or advisory help to others so as to become like Imam Hussein (AS). According to Ziarat Arbaeen, Imam Hussein (AS) sacrificed his blood so as to awaken nations.

Imam Hussein (AS) made sacrifices so that we would attain knowledge so we should try to become like him as much as we can and grow the spirit of benevolence in ourselves so as to help people. This help can have different forms including helping the poor, solving someone’s problem, lending money to a person, or even mediating between a couple who wants to divorce.

Imam Hussein (AS) loved people, so let us become like him.
