Go says in Verse 164 of Surah Al Imran: “Allah has surely been gracious to the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves to recite to them His verses, to purify them, and to teach them the Book and the Wisdom (prophetic sayings), though before that they were in clear error.”
All over the Quran, God refers to the blessings He has created and granted to people, blessing such as eyes, ears, intellect, intelligence, the nature, friendship, spouse, children, etc, each of which necessitates thanking God and being grateful.
God has not used the word Minna (making one feel obliged) about any of those blessings but He has used it in this verse about the Bi’tha of prophets, which shows it is such a great blessing granted to mankind.
It is a magnificent blessing that God chose from among people one in wisdom to read for them divine verses, purify their Nafs (self) from evil and enlighten their hearts with the light of the Book and Hikma (wisdom).
If it were not for this blessing, people would waste all other blessings and fail to benefit from them properly.
The blessing of prophethood is a divine invitation to virtue, knowledge and beauty that gives meaning to all other blessings and places them in the right path.
Indeed, if people fail to reach the status of virtue, Taqwa (God-fearing) and purified self, every blessing would be a liability for them.
